A bad case of cirrhosis...

Yesterday the Washington Post ran a piece on the predilection of  US Presidents to kick the national debt down the road like a can of soup.  "Let someone else worry about it," they tell themselves.  "I just need to skate through my term and I'm home free."

The point of the article is that kicking the can down the road is no longer an option.  Everyone in the US Congress has been passing the buck back and forth right along with the Presidents in an effort to keep everyone happy.  The result is that the debt has swelled to the extent that all it can do now is implode.
