As some people know, Calleman's end time for the calendar is Oct. 28, 2011. That's approximately 7 months away. His core prediction is that human consciousness will take an exponential leap forward, or up, as in ascension. The argument is that this metamorphosis has been ongoing all along, silently and quietly. Earth changes are supposedly a symptom of this change, as the Earth itself is changing right along with us, and will complete this change with or without our participation.
Prophets of doom and New Age channels have jumped on the wagon with their theories about what all this might mean for humanity. Much of it is sensational gibberish that has little to do with the real world and more with the bromides and simplistic platitudes of the Sunday pulpit. Granted, one has to let the timeline run its course before you can start scoffing in hindsight what's been proposed to occur, or said to be occurring.
But there is another way you might get a glimpse of what is happening (or not) and that is by stepping away from your computer for a week or so and stay completely away from New Age information altogether, both negative and positive, and just gauge yourself in relationship to what's happening in your world and the world at large. The effect this had on me was a bit unexpected. After a few days I began to see the absurdity of life with the clarity of an existentialist, again.
The word "absurd" must be taken here as used by Albert Camus. Religion and quasi-religions (such as New Age beliefs) are used to fill this feeling of absurdism. Perhaps the closest one gets to understanding this state of mind is when you lose someone close to you in death, or a broken romance, maybe the lose of a job, or the lose of faith in whatever god you thought you believed in. It's that emptiness that gives you the clarity.
What came forth after a week or so of restricting my intake of information was that nothing at all was going to happen at the end of the Mayan Calendar. That is, nothing like what's been forecasted.
These are some of the things that came to mind during my mental retreat:
Life will go on as it always has, with higher taxes and the inevitable death of each and everyone of us at some point in time.
There will not be a "second Earth" as some people believe, other than the spirit world from whence they came.
"Karmic clearing" and other snake oil techniques will relieve you of some hard earned cash and do absolutely nothing else.
SaLuSa and others like him are incurable pathological liers who might be working for government psyop organizations.
Obama is not the messiah sent here to make things right, as some psychics have proposed.
Earth changes will continue at a surprising rate.
Interestingly, the idea of first contact with ETs was reinforced during this time. The reason is probably because of the increased UFO activity and because we as a species seem to be incapable of doing the right thing on our own, as has been proven time and again throughout history.
Whether or not my insights will prove to be true over the course of the next 7-to-21 months is hard to say. What I do know is that we will still be groping for some kind of truth to our existence, and certain money-hungry people will continue to take advantage of that "void of absurdity" in our lives that must be filled one way or another, whether with drugs, booze, or someone's unique concept of an unverifiable god.
When all is said and done, those who will find themselves on the very same planet they were born into, and those who have dug holes in the ground to hide, will find themselves in a sea of disillusion.
Also, keep in mind that none of this is written in stone. These are purely subjective opinions and everyone must come to their own conclusions.
