Harold Camping warns the Day of Judgement is May 21, 2011...

On August 21, 2010, I posted on Harold Camping declaring that Oct. 21, 2011 would be the Day of May 21, 2011, a full five months sooner than his previous warning.  That's a little more than a month away and falls on a Saturday.  The third Saturday of the month, to be exact.  Strange that Jesus would choose to return and kick-ass on the Sabbath.  But I suppose the Lord can overrule His own laws if He so chooses.
Judgement.  Since then he has rethought his assessment and amended that date to

This change of venue was brought to my attention when someone commented on the post and advised me to let Jesus into my heart.  Why do Christians always assume that people have shut out Jesus from their lives?  That is about as presumptuous as you can get.  It's very irritating.

But because of this I was prompted to re-read Camping's warning.  That's when I discovered his change of mind.  Like so many other biblical students, he bases his evaluations on his own personal calculations.

Frankly, the way things are unfolding around the world, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if something significant happened on that date.  So get your things in order, and for Christ's sake don't huddle in fear about it.  Whatever goes down (if anything) let it be.

Christians for some reason have a habit of assuming a lot of strange things.  First and foremost is their comical assumption that people who do not believe as they do will go to hell for all time.  That is a whopper.  Camping goes so far as to say that some people are condemned to damnation before they were even born.  Talk about intolerance.

Many Christians also erroneously believe that the "heathen" Mayans are blasphemous because they claim to know when "the world will end."  The Mayans do indeed know when the world will end, but not in the sense that Christians believe.  The Mayans are simply saying that one world will change into another.  This can be taken metaphorically or literally.

Depending on which version you cite, one says that we are exiting the Fourth World and entering the Fifth.  There is no mention of permanent termination in any way.  Where the Fifth World will lead is the real mystery.

Ironically, Camping also claims to know when the world will end.  How do fellow Christians feel about that?  He has deciphered "merciful" God's encoded message,  claiming God will save a mere 200 million people by "rapturing" them into heaven, while the rest of us take the brunt end of God's righteous wrath and totally destroys the Earth forever.

Camping also claims that God foresaw this day of doom coming before He even created the world.  He saw that humans were abominably incorrigible and was quite prepared to put an end to His sinful creation.

The only question I have is why didn't He give us more brains than He did to assist our free will, adjust our DNA to better see the light of reason, temper our animalistic desire to dominate and control?  A true god would have eliminated the flaws.

If you knew for a certainty that you were going to give birth to a man who would murder millions of people during his lifetime, would you abort that birth?  Why turn a species loose in the world that would bring destruction to the Earth, themselves, and its other living inhabitants only to destroy them en masse because of their imperfections?  I'm sorry, but that doesn't make a goddamn bit of sense to me.

The video below hits a bullseye concerning Harold Camping and his vision of doom for May 21, 2011.  A lot of frightened (and guilty) people are sending this crank a ton of money with no guarantee of a refund if nothing happens.  This guy is no better than the team of Richard Presser and Carolyn Evers who are bilking gullible people by promising a bogus "karmic clearing" so they will be worthy to "ascend" when the time is right.

Folks, don't fall for any of this b.s.  Wherever you go after you die will be on your own merits, not on someone's say so because you gave them money.

Besides, what is Harold Camping going to do with the money being sent to him?  Why would he need it if he's going to be in paradise with JC?  Spend it on yourself if you need to spend it at all.

No amount of money is going to pay off your spiritual debts, your karmic baggage.  It is yours and yours alone, and will be remedied exclusively by you and no one else.  It's unconscionable that Christians need to use Jesus Christ as a door mat.  You are responsible for your own actions.  Period.  And that's the God given truth.
