alien world offers no sufficient
words to paint descriptions or
explanations. there is no history,
no dignitaries, no mythos, no
saviors, no heroes or villains.
unusual objects stand ready to
grapple your consciousness
and throw you into an addled
confusion. it is a place of the
absolutely unknown to your
mundane and bromidic mind.
creatures you see only in
nightmares have come to keep
you in view of their attentive
calling. and though you are
aware of them you can’t see
why. you have no eyes or legs
or limbs of any kind.
worms with superior intellects
smile and show toothless gums
with recessed tongues that glow
with green slime. they smell of
stale mushrooms and methane
gas and sing songs that tell of
exotic equations.
robots and goo speak with their
thoughts and rattle your psyche,
extracted from your skull and
kept in a jar where you will
remain until they finish your
clone.
and though you have no idea
where you are or how you got
there, greys with blank faces
and reptiles with brilliant eyes,
and even some that look like
bugs with undulant antenna,
(each created by the very god
you worshipped)
all these strange and odd-looking
creatures are now your everyday,
ever watchful and mysterious
overlords.
